Searching for Companies
is an efficient way to find what you need in one centralized location. Whether you're searching for a project, company, contacts, service agreements, or service tickets, this guide will show you the many ways to use the search tool functionality.
To begin, click the on Search (magnifying glass icon) in the left toolbar of the e-manage|ONE window. A pop-out panel . You will see categories in expandable group boxes (defaults to “Companies & Contacts”). Go to the section you want to search. Type in your criteria and wait for a second or two and your results will automatically appear. The less information you give e-manage to search for, the more results it will return. For example, if you are looking for a Company called "Bank of Texas", you could type in “Bank”, but you would get any company that has will display, allowing you to choose the category you wish to search. As you begin typing, specific and detailed information will help limit the results that populate.

Searching for Company
Looking for a specific company can be time-consuming, especially if it has multiple locations or if its name is common. Luckily, there are ways to make your search more precise and efficient. For example, when searching for a company, typing in "Bank" would produce any company with "Bank" in the company name.
Note: It is not necessary to use the “Search For” drop down - as when you place your cursor in the different fields it will know what you are searching for. We will explore the “Search For” drop down below.

Location Names can also be used to search for companies. When you are dealing with companies with multiple locations and maybe they have already named their , so using the Location Name or Address fields may be more specific.

You can also look up companies by entering the telephone number. The telephone number search will find a company by the main phone or toll free numbers. When searching for companies using phone #, you must press the ENTER key on your keyboard to initiate the search.
Searching for Contacts
You can search for contacts using the Last Name field. Although the field name is last name, you can also type the first name. In the interest of returning only relevant records, you should only use the first name when the first name is unusual or as a last resort. You can also type the last name with a comma, a space and part or all of the first name i.e. "Jones, Bob".

Searching for Contacts
When searching for contacts, begin by selecting the "Contact" option at the top of the search tool. From there, you can simply start typing the name of the contact you're interested in finding. However, to ensure that you only see relevant records, it's best to use the full name when possible, and use only the first name as a last resort or when the name is uncommon. Once you've entered the name, you'll see all relevant results appear below. To select a contact, simply highlight the desired result and double-click or press enter on your keyboard.

Searching for Projects
You can find projects by project #, Job #search for projects using various criteria such as project number, job number, project name, Quote #quote number, and your PO # or see all projects in a certain status (salespeople only see their own projects) in the Projects and Jobs section of the Search tool in e-manageONEnumber. Salespeople can only view their own projects.
Project numbers are numeric, while but if you set use your own job #'snumbers, they can be alpha-numeric. You can type By typing any part of the project name to pull up projects by name. You should be mindful of how you name your projects, so pulling up a list of projects by name is easier.
You MUST hit ENTER on your keyboard to return Project Search results.

Searching for Service Items

Other Searches
The Other Section has items that either pull up multiple different types of records, i.e. Customer PO or Invoice Number which could be for a Service Agreement, Project, or Service Ticket. Help Desk # did not fit into any other category. Customer PO and Invoice # accept alpha-numeric values, while Help Desk Number accepts only numeric entries. The Customer PO Search will only function if the PO # has been entered in the Order Entry module. You must hit ENTER on your keyboard to return results in the Other Search.

“Search For” Drop Down / Toggle
The "Search For" acts as a toggle to search for related records to a Company (i.e. you want to find a Project associated with a customer). If you wish to use this functionality, select the company or companies and then drop down the Search For field and make your selection. You may search in only one direction – from first selection to sub-selections. You cannot go back to the first selection; you have to start over.
NOTE: To select multiple companies left click the first company and drag to multi-select or, if non-contiguous, hold down CTRL key and left click companies. If you DO NOT highlight a company when flipping the "Search For" it will pull data for ALL companies on the right side of the Search panel.

NOTE: You do not have to press ENTER key when searching for a Company, Location or Last Name. Search will begin automatically. However, you must press ENTER for all other searches, including Address.

HINT: You can control the amount of time the program will wait to begin searching. A slow typist may want the program to hesitate a few seconds giving you time to type. A fast typist may want a shorter wait period. You may change from 3 to 1 seconds from the Options menu on the Top Toolbarin your User Preference Tab. Change the Search Delay Timer to 1, 2 or 3 (DO NOT SET THE SEARCH DELAY TIMER TO 0).
