The Bill of Materials module of e-manage|ONE is where you put together the parts, services and any other items it will take to complete a specific project for the customer based on the scope of work. The Bill of Materials window not only gives you an estimated cost and sale based on the items added to it, but also is the structure of the quote you will give your customer.

The Bill of Materials can only use items that are either already existing in your Master Parts Listing, from the Project Spec catalog integrated into e-manage|ONE and/or will be imported from an external source and added to the Master Part Listing during import. During your implementation, some internal items were probably created for labor, installation, freight, design services or other items that are not ordered from external vendors, but are part of the estimating process. If you find that there are items that are missing from your Master Part Listing that you need to add to the Bill of Materials to make a complete estimate / quote, you can add these items (on the fly) in this window, or, if you do not have the rights to add / modify the Master Part Listing, you can see your administrator to have the items added or to give you the rights to do so.

What you do on this window will become the quote to the customer, the quote to the customer will become the order from the customer, the order from the customer will generate purchase orders, the order also converts to the customer invoice, so being as exact as possible is the key to the success of your business.

In this window, every change to every line item is tracked (except for deleting a line item however, you can bring back anything deleted within the past 7 days), in the Last Modification area of the item listing grid. Everything you will need to create an accurate estimate and a professional quote including optional pictures is exposed in this window, so explore everything. It is especially important to realize that right clicking on pretty much anything in this window will give you context sensitive menus for the area you right clicked on.
