The current opportunities grid contains all projects created that have not been cancelled and have not been booked as an order. Many users use this for forecasting, but it is primarily to help salespeople (and their managers) make sure that no opportunity for business falls through the cracks. For salespeople that do not manage other salespeople, this grid will only show projects that they are listed as a salesperson on the project. In this grid, the primary salesperson is shown (this is the salesperson with the most credit %). For example, if you have two salespeople sharing credit, one having 70% of the credit, the other 30%, the 70% salesperson will show as the primary salesperson on the current opportunities grid. The 30% salesperson will still be able to see the project in the grid, but may not see their name listed in the gird.
Keeping this grid updated with the latest decision date and probability is key to managing the growing number of projects salespeople have in their pipeline. When you know that an opportunity is not going to come to fruition, right click on it and cancel it to get it out of your active Current Opportunities so managers do not lose confidence in your selling ability when comparing projections to actual sales.
The Current Opportunities grid is located in the "Today" pop-out panel in the "Project" section. Depending on the number of current opportunities you have, it may take up to 30 seconds to load this grid. The grid contains estimated values once you have created a quote using the BOM / Estimating / Quoting window including Estimated Sale, Estimated Cost, Estimated Labor Cost and Sale, and Estimated GP%. Before a quote is made, you can use the Approximate Value field of the project information to estimate the value of the project based on the scope of work. When a quote is created, this value is replace by the Estimated Sale value of the quote.
You can highlight one or more rows in the Current Opportunities grid and right click on them to perform actions (or change values) from the context menu.
Using Saved Grid Layouts, you can change the way the grid looks at any time, changing column header names, moving columns around, or creating new calculated formula fields.

If you are a sales manager and a salesperson, you can view just your own projects by clicking the round red button on the bottom right of the grid, then on the Grid Functions menu (right under the now round green button) and un-checking the "Managed" menu item.
