Error: The name of the list element is already in use

Cause: The name of the employee is already in QuickBooks. They are in either as an employee, customer or vendor.

Resolution: If they are already an employee, open the e-manage QB integration and click on Join Employees to QB Employees and map the e-manage employee with the QB employee.

The QBListID is a dropdown (see screenshot below highlighted in yellow and circled in red for reference).  Click in the grid and find the employee name and select it. Once selected you can refresh and it will disappear from the list.

Error message: There was an error when saving a Employees list, element "First Name Last Name".  QuickBooks error message: Missing lived in or worked in state.

Cause: When creating an Employee in QuickBooks, it is required to specify the lived in or worked in State, if the Employee defaults are not yet set up in the QuickBooks preferences, Axis will not be permitted by QuickBooks to create a new Employee and the import will fail.

Resolution:  Set up the Employee defaults to assign a default State and reattempt the import.  In QuickBooks follow these steps:

  1. In QuickBooks Go to Edit > Preferences > Payroll & Employees

  2. Select the Company Preferences tab

  3. Click on the Employee Defaults button

  4. Click on the  Taxes button

  5. Click on  the State tab 

  6. Under State Worked select the default state from the drop-down list.

  7. Click OK and reattempt your import
