If you want to access the contact context menu for a lead, simply right-click on the lead. In addition to the contact context menu, you will also see a Lead submenu.
...
From the Lead submenu, you can perform several actions, such as:
Open the Lead Record: This is similar to double-clicking on the lead and will allow you to view and edit the lead information.
Change the Salesperson: If you are a manager, you can re-assign leads to salespeople who will work on them effectively. The fire icon and last activity date help managers identify leads that are not being handled promptly, so they can re-assign them to a different salesperson.
Start a Project for this Lead: This action initiates a project for the lead's company location. When you save the project, the contact and lead record are automatically attached to it. This usually removes the lead from open leads. If you want to track a lead until it is booked as an order, you can select the "Projects" checkbox from the Leads pop-out panel.
As a salesperson managing other salespeople, you have the option to view managed leads (including your own) or only your own leads by unchecking the "Managed" menu item in the Leads pop-out panel.
You can also put leads on hold, which allows you to set them aside for a later date so that your active list only includes leads that are currently interested. When you click the "Place Lead on Hold" button, a pop-up window will appear requesting a reason for putting the lead on hold and a reactivation date (when the lead will automatically return to your active list). Since leads on hold do not appear in your active open leads list, you can access them by selecting the "On Hold" menu item from the Grid Functions menu.
To reactivate a lead that is on hold, you can follow these steps:Check the "On Hold" checkbox on the Leads pop-out panel to view your leads on hold.
Right-click on the appropriate lead record and select "View Lead Hold Information".
Click the "Reactivate Now" button to remove the hold on the lead and return it to your active open leads list.
One of the most critical tasks for a salesperson is to maintain an accurate list of open leads. If a lead is not going anywhere, it's essential to cancel it promptly. Canceling an open lead provides valuable information to your company about why the lead didn't convert into a project or an order. By selecting a reason from the predefined drop-down list, your company can analyze the data and make adjustments accordingly.
If your administrator allows it, you may also be able to type in the box for reasons not listed in the drop-down menu. However, doing so may make it more challenging for your company to analyze the data by compiling percentages of reasons for cancellation. Therefore, it's best to stick to the predefined reasons when canceling open leads.
