The current opportunities grid contains all projects created that have not been cancelled Current Opportunities grid in e-manage is a valuable tool for sales teams to keep track of potential business opportunities and ensure that no opportunities are overlooked. This article provides an overview of the Current Opportunities grid and how to effectively utilize it.
Purpose and Functionality
The Current Opportunities grid displays all projects that have been created, have not been canceled, and have not been booked as an order. Many users use this for forecasting, but it is primarily to help salespeople (and their managers) make sure that no opportunity for business falls through the cracks. For salespeople that do not manage other salespeople, this grid will only show projects that they are listed as a salesperson on the project. In this grid, the primary salesperson is shown (this is the salesperson with the most credit %). For example, if you have two salespeople sharing credit, one having 70% of the credit, the other 30%, the 70% salesperson will show as the primary salesperson on the current opportunities grid. The 30% salesperson will still be able to see the project in the grid, but may not see their name listed in the gird.
Keeping this grid updated with the latest decision date and probability is key to managing the growing number of projects salespeople have in their pipeline. When you know that an opportunity is not going to come to fruition, right click on it and cancel it to get it out of your active Current Opportunities so managers do not lose confidence in your selling ability when comparing projections to actual sales.
