To begin, click on Search (magnifying glass icon) in the left toolbar of the e-manage|ONE window. A pop-out panel will display, allowing you to choose the category you wish to search. Use specific and detailed information to help limit the results that populate.
There are a myriad of ways to use the search tool and are separated by category at top of the pop-out panel. This section will break down the search capabilities for each category.
Searching for Company
Looking for a specific company can be time-consuming, especially if it has multiple locations or if its name is common. Luckily, there are ways to make your search more precise and efficient. For example, when searching for a company, typing in "Bank" would produce any company with "Bank" in the company name, so using the Location Name or Address fields may be more specific.
Select Company from the categories at the top of search tool.
Use the Location Name: When dealing with companies that have multiple locations, it is best to search by location name. This is especially helpful if the company has already named its branches in a way that makes sense to them. By typing in the location name, you can quickly filter out irrelevant results and find the exact location you are looking for.
Utilize the Address: Another great way to search for a company is by typing part of its address into the search tool. This is particularly useful if you used prospecting to enter your companies since the address will always be correct. Additionally, searching by address eliminates the need to look for company names that may contain acronyms or variations depending on how they are listed in Google or how someone entered the information manually. You can enter any part of the address, including the street name, street number, or both. (See example below)
Highlight the result and double-click or press enter.
Searching for Contacts
When searching for contacts, begin by selecting the "Contact" option at the top of the search tool. From there, you can simply start typing the name of the contact you're interested in finding. However, to ensure that you only see relevant records, it's best to use the full name when possible, and use only the first name as a last resort or when the name is uncommon. Once you've entered the name, you'll see all relevant results appear below. To select a contact, simply highlight the desired result and double-click or press enter on your keyboard.
Searching for Projects
You can search for projects using various criteria such as project number, job number, project name, quote number, and your PO number. Salespeople can only view their own projects.
Project numbers are numeric, but if you use your own job numbers, they can be alpha-numeric. By typing any part of the project name, you can search for projects using the project name. Therefore, it is important to name your projects in a way that makes searching for them easier.
Searching for Service Items
You can search for Service Agreements / Contracts by contract number, Serviceable Items by serial number, and Service Tickets by Ticket #.
You can control the amount of time the program will wait to begin searching. A slow typist may want the program to hesitate a few seconds giving you time to type. A fast typist may want a shorter wait period. You may change from 3 to 1 seconds in your User Preference Tab. Change the Search Delay Timer to 1, 2 or 3 (DO NOT SET THE SEARCH DELAY TIMER TO 0).
