Contacts are any person you work with at a Company Location (or Vendor) that can be interested in something your selling (a lead record), someone you want to market to (see Bulk e-mailing using Microsoft Word or the Bulk e-mail functionality), or is someone you will use as an attention to on shipping or billing forms.
Since e-manage|ONE integrates with Microsoft Outlook, it is important that you get an e-mail address (we hold two e-mail addresses per contact (work and other) so that your company can save on paper and printing costs by e-mailing documents to anyone who is willing. E-mail addresses are also very important for performing bulk e-mails and sending out general product announcements using Microsoft Word and our Mail Merge functionality.
e-manage can also use Microsoft Outlook to send out text messages to customers that agree to be texted so be sure to get a mobile number and the contacts' mobile carrier whenever possible.
Contacts are created from the Companies / Company Records they work at. A contact cannot exist without the Company Location.
Creating Contacts in e-manage is fast and easy but busy, on the go, salespeople might prefer to use the e-manage Web Portal on their mobile device to enter contact information without being in front of a computer.
