Verify that you have enabled the "Show pictures in the BOM Items Grid" option. You can find this setting in the Tools Menu → Configure → User Settings.
You may need to update your grid layout in the Bill of Materials module to display the picture column in the grid.

Simply select the field chooser → Drag and Drop “Picture” in the grid → Right click on “Picture” → Data Type / Formatting → Display Style → Select Image. Don’t forget to Save your Grid Layout!
