If you are using Configura's Spec Version 5 to generate a Bill of Materials, Estimate, or Quote, and you add items to the Spec workspace one at a time, there is now a more efficient way to add those items to e-manage by utilizing the Spec Catalog Viewer. Please note that this assumes you have already followed the Configura Spec Setup & Integration section of this manual. If not, please click here.
To begin, open up a project and navigate to the BOM / Estimating / Quoting Window.
To begin, open a project and navigate to the BOM/Estimating/Quoting window. Drill down in the Option Grid at the top of the BOM Window to the BOM level. Clicking on the BOM you wish to add items to will activate the Configura Spec button.
Upon clicking the Configura Spec button, the Item Specification window will appear, allowing you to browse the manufacturer and specify the desired item.
Quick Tip: You can also use the search function in the lower area of the window to quickly search for a Part #.
Double-click on the manufacturer and continue to double-click to select the item you wish to add to your Bill of Materials / Quote.
Next, select your desired options by double-clicking on the appropriate option in the Available Options section on the lower part of this window. Note that there is a "Skip" button available if your customer has not yet selected an Option; this will be highlighted in red on the quote to draw attention to the fact that it has not yet been finalized.
Once you have completed all of the option selections, the window will indicate that there are "No Further Options," and you can click the "Accept" button to proceed.
Modifying an item using the Spec Catalog Viewer
To modify options for a part, double-click on the corresponding row within the BOM.
This will cause the Item Specification window to appear, with the item and previously chosen options displayed.
From here, select the option you wish to change and click the "Change Single" button, double-click on the correct option, and click the "Accept" button to finalize the change.
