Troubleshooting Reports
ISSUE / ERROR
POTENTIAL SOLUTION
Report (Quote, Invoice, etc.) is not printing properly and is misaligned, off centered or has a large margin.
e-manageONE relies on the Windows Settings for text size / resolution to properly display reports. Unfortunately, there is currently no work around to this at this time. The Display Settings → Scale & Layout → Text Size must be set to 100%.
If you are using an extended monitor, you will need to change your computer Display Settings.
Right click on your computer desktop and go to Display Settings
Select the larger monitor display
In the “Main Displays” section, check ‘Make this my main display’
In the “Scale and Layout” section, make sure text size is set to 100% and your display resolution is set to the recommended option (typically 1920 x 1080)
When you print a report, you receive the below error message:
“You must choose an alternative report or check the ‘Use Original’ checkbox to continue.”
Navigate to Tools (top toolbar) → Configure → User Settings → Select the “Remembered Reports” tab → Highlight the report you are trying to print → Delete Selected. When you go back to print your report, you should see the “Alternatives Available” pop up box in which you can just select “Continue”.
When you print a report, and you do not see the “Alternatives Available” window come up and you feel there should be a custom report you should have access to.
Navigate to Tools (top toolbar) → Configure → User Settings → Select the “Remembered Reports” tab → Highlight the report you are trying to print → Delete Selected. When you go back to print your report, you should see the “Alternatives Available” pop up box in which you can just select “Continue”.
OR
The custom report has not been configured properly. See here for details on how to properly configure an Alternative Report.
When you print a report, you receive a red error box on the document and cannot see all information entered into the system (examples / errors shown below)
1. “Could Not Find File ____”
2. “An error has occurred while processing HtmlTextBox; The character cannot be included in a name”
There are 2 possible causes with the 2 solutions noted below:
You may not have the base reports downloaded in your files so you need to go to Help → Download Base Reports
You may have copied text from a Microsoft program and attempted to paste into e-manage for a printed report but did not use the correct method to do so. You must use the actual Paste button as shown below. If you already used the Right Click → Paste or CTRL+V, you will need to cut the text, Save without the text and re-paste using the Paste button.
The error message below shows in place of your report in the View PDF screen
“Could Not Find File ____”
You may not have a custom report downloaded to your files so you need to go to Tools → Custom Reports → Download Custom Reports to my Computer
"Invalid Value of Report Parameter 'UserID'."
Possible causes with their solutions noted below:
If you receive the below error message more than likely you do not have your company logo set. To do this please follow the instructions in the Company Logo section of the Help Guide here and refresh your report.
If your logo is set, but still receive this error, check that all parts in your BOM is assigned a vendor in the Vendor field .
Make sure line items in BOM are marked “Visible”. Visible field should be checked off.
When you print a report, and no data / information prints and report layout is not properly lining up.
You will need to set your company and logo.
Go to File > User Preferences > Set My Company and Logo for Use on Reports.
