e-manage is extremely flexible in quoting. The following is basic functionality when creating a quote to a customer.Â
The structure of the BOM is:Â
Option
Phase
BOM
Parts
You must have at least one Option, Phase and BOM. You can have Multiple Phase Groups under an Option.Â
An Option could be exactly that - an Option. The customer wants a price and will purchase either one or the other.Â
Option - Option #1
Option - Option #2Â
OR an Option could be another item, Building, Floor, Top level group.Â
Option - Seating
Option - TablesÂ
Under each Option you can break your quote into more groupings.Â
Option - Seating
Phase - Seat 1
Phase - Seat 2
Phase - Seat 3
Option - Tables
Table 1
Table 2Â
The BOM contains your parts list and different ways to group your parts. You can also create descriptions for the groups by double clicking on the Phase Grouping and print a Line Item Quote or a Lump Sum Quote (Phase Quote) which does not show all the line item parts. You can also do a combination of the two on the same quote.Â
Pictures can also be added to at the Option, Phase and Part levels. Right click on the Option, Phase or part to add pictures.
If you have Project Matrix you can right click on a part or multiple parts and Read Pictures in From Project Matrix.
Once all the parts are priced you can create a quote, print it, save it to the project and email it to your customer. All can be done with just a few clicks.Â
Configure Quote Settings
Click on the vertical tab on the left of the BOM to create a Quote / Modify /View Customer Quotes. If you want to immediately print the quote you can highlight the quote by clicking once and click the Printer Icon in the Toolbar above. If you want to modify the quote settings you will double click the quote and the Create / Edit Customer Quote window will openÂ
You can change the setting and save a setting as a default template and create other templates for specific customers and make them Public to other users by entering a name in the box located in the lower left corner of the window "Save / Load Template"
Best Practices:
Create a new quote / quote # for every price option / change so there is no confusion on which quote is the latest and correct.
Copy and paste the BOM option and Create a new Quote if you are doing a revision to a quote previously submitted so you have a the history and you can revert back to it if necessary.
