Editing a Submitted Action Item

How to Edit a Submitted Action Item

e-manage|ONE now allows users to edit a submitted Action Item, provided it has not yet been checked out. If the Action Item is still pending and has not been opened by the receiving user, you can modify its details. Once it is checked out (opened by the assigned user), it becomes locked for editing.

Editing a Submitted Action Item

  1. Access the Action Item:

    • Navigate to Open Actions or Actions to Perform.

    • Locate the Action Item you wish to edit.

    • Double-click on the Action Item.

  2. Prompt to Edit:

    • A prompt will appear asking if you want to edit the Action Item.

    • Select Yes to proceed with the changes.

  3. Edit Action Item Details: You can edit the following:

    • Add/Edit Notes: If you forgot to add a note or need to update existing notes, you can make changes here.

    • Attach Documents: Attach any additional documents that may have been missed previously.

    • Due By Date: If the Action Item’s due date is in the past, you will need to set a new date. Only today or future dates are allowed.

    • Assign To: Adjust the user assigned to complete the Action Item if necessary.

  4. Save Changes: Once you've made the desired edits, click Submit to apply the changes. The updated Action Item will be saved and ready for the designated user to check out.

Important Notes:

  • If the Action Item has already been checked out by someone (i.e., opened by the assigned user), it cannot be edited. In this case, you must request that the Action Item be rejected and then resubmit it.

  • The Due By Date can only be changed to today or in the future, ensuring tasks are completed on time.

By following these steps, you can easily make necessary changes to your submitted Action Items without having to resubmit them completely, streamlining your workflow.
