๐ Uploading Documents in e-manage|ONE
There are four primary methods to upload and attach documents in e-manage|ONE. While some options require saving the document locally, others allow direct uploading without ever saving the file to your computerโhelping reduce local storage usage and keep everything securely stored in the cloud. Your method of choice may simply come down to personal preference!
๐ Method 1: โSave Asโ to e-manageONE Upload to Record
This is the most universal and commonly used method and does not require the document to be saved locally beforehand.
Steps:
Open your document
Go to File > Save As
Navigate to the folder named e-manage One Upload to Record
We recommend pinning this folder to your Quick Access or Favorites for easy use
(Located in Documents โ Right-click โ โPin to Quick Accessโ)Once saved, the Uploader Window will appear in the bottom-right corner of your screen.
Uploader Fields:
Open Windows: e-manage will detect any active windows (Project, Company Record, etc.) that are open. If none are open, open the relevant window before proceeding.
Commit To: Auto-assigns based on the selected window.
Document Type: Required field. If the type you need isnโt available, contact your system admin to add it via Drop Down List Setup.
Security Level (Sec Level): Controls visibility. "Low" makes the document visible to all users. Options depend on your security rights.
Retention Date: Optional and permission-based. Used for automatically deleting documents based on expiration settings. Learn more here โ Deleting Documents with Expired Retention Dates
Use For All Shown Docs: Allows you to upload multiple documents at once to the same window and with the same document type.
Once uploaded, the Uploader window will close automatically.
๐ฑ๏ธ Method 2: Drag & Drop into Upload Folder
If your file is already saved to your PC:
Drag and drop the file into the e-manage One Upload to Record folder
Follow the Uploader Window steps (Method 1) to complete the process
Note: This will move the document from its original location on your machine into e-manage, so be sure you donโt need a local copy before dragging it.
๐ค Method 3: Right-Click > Send To e-manage Upload Folder
Right-click the file from your computer
Choose Send to โ e-manage One Upload to Record
Follow the steps in the Uploader Window as detailed in Method 1

๐ Method 4: Attach Documents Directly from the Project Window
This method is ideal for users who prefer uploading files directly from within the project, especially if the files are already saved on your computer.
Steps:
Open the relevant Project
Click โAttach Document(s)โ from the top Actions Toolbar
Choose the appropriate Document Type and (optional) Security Level.
Click โAdd Documentโ to browse and select files from your computer.
Click Save
If youโre uploading multiple documents in this window, they will all be assigned the same Document Type. If different types are required, upload one at a time or edit them afterward in the Documents tab within the project.
