Global / Bulk Price Change

Within the e-manage|ONE BOM Window, you have the flexibility to easily adjust pricing, including your costs and sell prices to customers. This can be accomplished either directly within the Option, Phase, and/or BOM grid or by utilizing the "Price By" pop-out panel located in the upper toolbar of the BOM module.

Using the "Price By" Panel

The "Price By" panel enables you to make global changes to various parameters such as MFG Discount, Tax Rate, Margin, and more. Here are the steps to utilize this feature:

  • To use the "Price By" panel, you need to have at least one row in the Option/Phase/BOM grid highlighted. Note that you can highlight multiple options, phases, or BOMs, and the "Price By" function will apply changes to all parts within the selected items. In the example below, the entire option has been highlighted.

  • Once you have made your selection, click on the "Price By" button located in the upper toolbar of the BOM module.

  • You can now choose to "Price By Parts Category," "Product Type," "MFG Code," "Product Line," or "Manufacturer." "MFG Code" is commonly used when pricing furniture, while "Product Type" is often chosen for adjusting labor, design, project management, etc., items that may not have an MFG Code assigned.

  • You can adjust MFG Discount, Margin, Sales Tax Rate, etc., by placing your cursor in the relevant field and making the necessary changes. For most fields, you can simply type the new values and press the TAB key on your keyboard to apply the changes. In the MFG Discount field, you can even use slashes to separate different tiers of the discount (e.g., 50/20/10) and then press TAB to confirm the changes.

    Additional Tips

  • You can also right-click on one or more rows in the Price By Product grid to change the vendor. Find the new vendor in the "Set Vendor" drop-down list and click the "Set Vendor" button.

Changing Individual Line Item Costs and Prices

When you select one or more Options, Phases, or BOMs in the BOM/Quoting module, all the items associated with the selected rows will be displayed individually in the grid at the bottom of the window. Here, you can make adjustments to various attributes, including Cost, List Price, Price Each, MFG Discount, Customer Discount, Profit Margin, Markup, Vendor Commission %, Packaging Tag, Sales Tax Rate, Use Tax Rate, Description, and more.

You can navigate through the grid using your keyboard's arrow keys, and editable cells will enter edit mode when selected.

Additionally, you can change the priority (the order in which items appear on the quote) by clicking in the line # or sort cells and modifying the number. By default, when importing a BOM from an external source, these values will be automatically filled out based on the order in which the parts appear in the .SIF file.

The error count cell indicates the number of options that were skipped when creating the item in Project Matrix or your drawing program. You can manually mark an option as an error by clicking the "+" next to the item and checking the Error checkbox. This will highlight the option in red on the quote, drawing your customer's attention to it. Any unchecked errors during order creation will serve as a warning regarding BOM errors.
