Opening a Record from a Grid
Almost all of the grids in e-manage let you double click on a row to open the corresponding record.
The record types that you can double click to open are: Companies, Contacts, Projects, Service Agreements, Serviceable Items, Service Tickets, Help Desk Incidents, Assets, Invoices, Purchase Orders, Vendor Invoices, Acknowledgements, Scheduled Implementation and most other record types.
Be sure to double click somewhere that is not editable, as double clicking on an editable field, does not trigger the opening of a record. It is best to double click on the row header throughout e-manageONE grids.
Double clicking on a row from a grid opens the default (initial) window of that type of record. This initial window is the window that created the record (for projects this will be the Project Information Window, Company Locations will be the Company Information Window, etc.).
You can also right click on one or more selected rows and choose to go into any other part of the record. You will see that the right click (context menu) has the same structure as the toolbar you will see when you open the record. Every right click menu on a top level record type has the Modules, History, and Actions menu, so instead of opening each record to the default window, then going to a different window, you can eliminate a step by choosing a function or module you want to do right from the menu on the right click menu. Right clicking on multiple rows will perform whichever action you choose from the menu on each selected row individually. For instance, if you highlight 5 rows and click on the Add a Note / Alert action menu item, e-manage|ONE will open 5 Add a Note / Alert windows, one for each record selected.
